Lockdowns have really been tough on everyone. One of the greatest challenges has been loneliness and isolation. We know how important socialization is and never in our lifetimes have we experienced such a breakdown of our daily connections to one another.

This has been the case since time immemorial. Even the Bible says ‘It is not good for man to live alone’ and Franklin D. Roosevelt echoed this sentiment when he said ‘We have learned that we cannot live alone.’ Likewise Aristotle said: Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is…

It’s important to keep a healthy body and healthy mind.

So important I just wrote a piece about it.

How do you maintain a healthy mind and body?

Going down memory land today.

Saw this old article in GreenwichTime.

Wish I could go back to Tanzania!

A beautiful place in the world.

Not sure how it happened but I’m now on MuckRack as well!

You can check it out by searching for Dayton Kingery on MuckRack.

It’s exciting to see all of these articles being picked up!

I’m proud to now be contributing articles to Patch about things happening in and around Greenwich.

This is my first piece about the incredible art gallery at Yale University. I have plenty of other great things to write about.

Keep an eye out for them!

Update of what I’ve been up to recently.

Firstly, been busy writing and really proud of this piece at Thrive Global.

I really miss kiteboarding, especially in these wintry times.

Here’s a clip of me kiteboarding in action

Is there anything in particular about the summer you miss when it’s freezing cold outside?
Or do you prefer it?

Thrilled to have written a post on such an important subject.

At the end of the day, no one knows ourselves better than we do.

So if we’re going to be care for, we really need self-care.

What are your thoughts about self care?

Many people don’t like the winter — the wind, the rain, the snow — where unless you’re covered up in about 6 layers, you better not go outside.

But for others, the allure of winter sports such as skating and skiing makes winter their favorite season.

There is nothing like skiing — heading down a mountain with two planks attached to your feet and zero friction, it is much more dangerous than it looks.

There’s a rush that comes with it. If you can master it, there’s no better feeling. Humans love this which is why sports such as surfing and water skiing attract a certain personality.

It’s not like basketball or tennis where you’re competing against another person or team — you’re competing against nature!

Approaching the end of the year means new year’s resolutions.

This is more apt than ever after the year that’s just been. People will approach 2021 with renewed gusto and enthusiasm.

There is nothing wrong with new year’s resolutions, but how many of the resolutions will still be in play by January 31 let alone December 31 of the following year?

It’s very difficult to change a habit and January 1 can be a line in the sand where cold turkey one suddenly stops smoking/goes on a diet/starts exercising or…
